The Osiligi model
ETB responds to pressing challenges facing pastoralist regions — recurrent droughts, livestock losses, limited access to adaptive knowledge and weak value chains. From Osiligi Farm we showcase and disseminate scalable solutions: drought-tolerant fodder systems, year-round feed storage infrastructure and water conservation innovations.
A multidisciplinary team of agronomists, animal scientists, engineers and climate adaptation specialists works on-site, integrating applied research with real-world training. Our goal is to replicate the Osiligi model across all 15 pastoralist counties in Kenya — reducing livestock mortality, enhancing feed and food security, and increasing climate resilience.
